Extension of service

SHILLONG: After the recent extension of service to Chief Secretary WMS Pariat, the Cabinet on Monday cleared extension of service of an official from Meghalaya Power Generation Corporation Limited to be appointed under Power Department .
The retired official from  Power  Generation (MeECL), M. Bora was appointed by the Cabinet for one more year.
Briefing reporters after the Cabinet meeting, the Chief Minister Dr Mukul Sangma said that the Cabinet discussed the issue of granting extension of service to the Technical Adviser to be appointed under Power  Department .
The Chief Minister said that the Power Department had been asked to have a technical wing to function within the department and partial measures were adopted in this regard. “The department also advertised for the post of Chief  Technical Adviser and service of   M. Bora, Retired Member, Generation  (MeECL) was made available as he was needed for one more year “, Sangma said.
Non- bonded doctors  : The Cabinet has decided to appoint two non-bonded medical and health officers in the State.
Briefing reporters after the cabinet meeting ,  Chief Minister  said besides students from Meghalaya who have signed bonds to serve in Meghalaya after availing the Meghalaya quota, there are students who completed their studies outside the State.
“We  have decided to appoint two such non bonded medical officers  to serve in the state”,  Dr Sangma said.
