Rape/ Attempted rape

Kwivity Wahlang lodged a complaint at Mawkyrwat PS that on Jan 26 around 4 pm, one boy (17) raped her minor daughter (4) in a jungle at Jakrem village in South West Khasi Hills.

One woman (31) lodged a complainant lodged a complaint at Kharkutta OP that on Dec 19, 2013, seven persons – Bilcham Momin, Seldom Sangma, Akasal Sangma, Lebit Sangma, Santi Momin, Gasan Sangma and Hedil Sangma – assaulted and attempted to rape her at Matchadu Adokgre village in North Garo Hills.

Assault cases

On Jan 27 at about 6 pm, two persons – Gilberth Marngar (19) and Homar Diengdoh Pariong – assaulted Robert Pariong with a sharp weapon at Khliehiew, Nongstoin in West Khasi Hills.

On Jan 25 at 11.30 pm, one Pillarstone Nonglang, driver of Mawthawpdah PHC, assaulted Dr. Iainehskhem Lyngdoh, M&HO, Civil Hospital, Nongstoin, and threatened him with dire consequences.

Donush Siangshai lodged a complaint at Saipung PS that on Jan 23 at about 11 am, four persons -Kyrshang Tangliang, Headman, Jibson Lamare, Secretary, Phamlis Manar, ex-Headman and Bimel Sumer, ex-Secretary of Umkyrpong village (EJH) – along with a crowd of 80 to 90 persons armed with guns, rifles, pistols and machetes damaged his standing crops, trees and demolished his property at Umkyrpong village in East Jaintia Hills. Loss of property was estimated around Rs.10 lakh.

Arrest

J, Hynniewta, headman of Lapalang, lodged a complaint at Rynjah police station that one Lahit Roy (55) forged his signature and used seal of his office for issuing residential certificates. Police arrested the accused.

On January 24 at about 5 pm, one Srim Lyngkhoi (20) assaulted one Kyrshan Lyngkhoi and Lapson Shangoi at Mawlangsu village in West Khasi Hills and also threatened them and their family members with dire consequences. Police arrested the accused.

Theft cases

On January 24, unknown miscreants stole one motorcycle (ML-05K-4368) belonging to one Rotendro Hajong from his residence at Borsora market in South West Khasi Hills.

On January 20, miscreants broke into the house of one Mintu Roy at Balat in South West Khasi Hills and stole one LCD player, thirty-five cell phones, three woofers, three DVD players and other electronic equipments valued around Rs. 62,700.

On Jan 27 night, unknown miscreants broke into the house of Bhaskar Baruah at Laban, Shillong, and stole two laptop computers, gold ornaments, pearl earrings, one cell phone, one wrist watch, cash Rs. 5,000, external hard disc and pen-drive.

Cheating case

One Riton Siangshai lodged a complaint at Jowai police station that one Chemlang Kyndait cheated him of Rs.3,31,500 being the payment of coal supplied by the complainant since December 2, 2013.

Missing case

Pankaj Kumar Gupta of Kolkata lodged a complaint at Shillong Sadar PS that on June 12, 2013, he had placed an order for seven tons of ginger valued around Rs. 80,000 with Avidesh Prasad of Jhalupara, Shillong, who informed that the material had been dispatched in a truck (DL-1GC-0452) for Kolkata. However, till date the truck and the material have not reached Kolkata.

Threat case

Sarabrata Dutt, General Manager, Sohbar Flower Farm, Umsning, lodged a complaint at Umsning OP that on Jan 25, one Franky Kylla demanded Rs. 5,000 from his worker Ramashankar Singh (35) and threatened him with dire consequences. Matter is under enquiry.
