Illegal collection
Vijay Singh Dosi, President of Gasuapara Coal Exporter Association lodged an FIR at Baghmara PS that some unidentified persons forcibly collected Rs. 300 each from coal laden mini trucks on NH-62 at Dabigre under Baghmara PS (SGH).
Orders violated
Tengkam M Sangma lodged an FIR at Baghmara PS that Gasuapara Coal Exporters Association has violated the orders of GHADC by refusing to pay the toll gate fees at Gasuapara alleging it to be an illegal toll gate.
Abduction
On January 28 around 9:30 pm, unidentified miscreants went to the house of Pohon Sangma at Upper Wageasi (NGH) in search of his son Wiston Marak (25). Not finding his son, the miscreants abducted Pohon Sangma.
Accident
On January 28 around 12:30 pm, one Mahindra Maxx (ML-10A-1657) driven by Stanbor Makdoh knocked down one pedestrian Md. Nustor Ali (30) at Saiden NH-40 (RB). Victim sustained injuries and was shifted to CH Nongpoh. Police arrested the driver and seized the vehicle.
Immigrants apprehended
On January 28 around 7:15 am, Police arrested three Bangladesh nationals Md. Lukman Uddin (30), Md. Islam Uddin (14) and Md. Abdul Rehman (25) while they were traveling in a vehicle without valid documents at Khliehriat NH-44 (EJH).
Arson
Marry Wahlang lodged a complaint at Nongpoh PS that on January 27 night, her son-in-law Andrus Goyary broke into her tea stall at Nongpoh (RB) and damaged utensils and other goods valued around Rs. 12,000.
Murder
On January 27 night, unknown miscreants shot dead Kloi Rymbai (47) with an SBBL gun at Moolaber Mootam village (WJH). Cadaver was sent to CH Jowai for Postmortem.
Theft
On January 27 around 6 am, unknown miscreants stole one truck (AS-01X-4954) belonging to Raj Kumar Sarma from a motor workshop at Phramer (WJH).
On January 27 around 9:30 pm, two minor boys aged 9 and 11 years respectively were caught red handed while stealing a bicycle belonging to Embhalang D. Phanbuh at Bhatt Colony, Laitumkhrah, Shillong. Police apprehended and forwarded the minor boys to Juvenile Justice Board Shillong.
On January 24, unknown miscreants stole one motorcycle (ML-05K-4368) belonging to Kedar Hashah from Borsora (SWKH).
Threat case
- Shit Kam lodged a complaint at Jowai PS that on January 26 night, her son Swanly Kam (18) threatened her with dire consequences in their residence at Riatsiasim Jowai (WJH).
- Constantine Langstang of Pammanik village (WJH) lodged a complaint at Jowai PS that on January 25 around 4.55 pm, he received a threat SMS from a mobile phone (No. 8119803518).
Arrest
On January 13 around 9.45 pm, BSF personnel of Bagli BOP apprehended one Sanush Marak (29) and recovered four gelatin sticks, one cell-phone and one Khukri from his possession.
Rape
Julius Ksoo lodged a complaint at Jowai PS that on November 21, 2013 around 12.30 pm, one Tikna Pala raped one minor girl (16) at Thadbamon village (WJH) and also threatened her and her family members with dire consequences.
