Itanagar: Expressing deep shock over the incident at Tarasso on Wednesday that resulted in the killings of innocent people and destruction of properties the BJP on Saturday said it reflects the gravity of law and order situation in the boundary areas.

The killings have unequivocally fixed the responsibility on both the Assam and Arunachal governments for their failure in maintaining law and order BJP general secretary Dominic Tadar said.

The party also appealed to the people of both Assam and Arunachal Pradesh to maintain peace and harmony.

“We fail to understand as to why both the Congress ruled state governments as well as the Centre is deliberately ignoring the popular issues,” he added.

Unfortunately, workers of some Assam-based political parties had adopted a one-sided stand on the issue instead of maintaining neutrality and support for a permanent solution to ensure peace and tranquility for people of both states, he added.

He appealed to the people not to allow elements with vested interests from taking advantage of the tragic situation and create more panic to make it seem like an Arunachal Pradesh versus Assam situation and also asked both the people of the state to maintain peace and harmony at the time of such unfortunate law and order problems.
