SHILLONG: Venom Speed lived up to their name by beating Lumpyngngad by 55 runs in their First Division Cricket League match, organised by the Shillong Cricket Association, at the Cricket Ground, Polo, on Monday.

After winning the toss and choosing to bat first, Venom Speed were bowled out for 154 in 27.2 overs.

Suresh Sunar’s half-century was made at a good rate, with the batsman scoring 50 runs from 46 ball, including seven fours and a six.

Vishal, meanwhile, did the business among the bowlers, taking 5-29 in seven overs.

In reply, Roshan’s 3-22 in four overs was just one of the bowling efforts that saw Lumpyngngad rolled over for just 99 in 25.3 overs.

John top-scored with 28 runs.

The next contest will see First Division teams Wahingdoh SC take on Madanryting SC at 9:00am on Tuesday.
