SHILLONG: The Hynniewtrep National Youth Front (HNYF), Raliang Circle, has accused former MDC of Saipung North constituency, KM Lytan, of forging the signatures of seven beneficiaries in the CGI Sheet scheme for the year 2013-14.
In a petition submitted to the Deputy Commissioner of West Jaintia Hills, the HNYF claimed that the former MDC had forged the signature of Ridakut Lamare, Rimika Lamare, Julina Suchiang, Pearly Lytep, Dora Lamare, Hampyrwa Chen and Numa Suiam in the CGI Sheet scheme whose budget was Rs.6 lakh.
The HNYF claimed that the forgery was detected based on an RTI finding which revealed that Lytan was given Rs.6 lakh for purchase of CGI sheets to be distributed to poor families under Shangpung North constituency, but the money was never distributed to the beneficiaries.
The HNYF has asked the Deputy Commissioner to take up the matter at the earliest and also informed that the affected victims have intended to file an FIR against the former MDC.
