SHILLONG: 2012 champions and last year’s runners-up Mizoram stopped Meghalaya in their tracks with a 4-0 win in a Group A match at the Dr T Ao Memorial Football Tournament in Aizawl on Monday.
Mizoram thus end the group stage as the top team and will play either Sikkim or Assam in the semifinals.
As a result of their defeat, Meghalaya, who beat lowly sides Tripura and Nagaland earlier, will have to take on defending champions Manipur in the other semi.
Both last-four matches will be played on Thursday.
Group B’s Sikkim and Assam will play on Tuesday.
