Drug peddlers convicted

SHILLONG: The Court of Special Judge (NDPS), Shillong has convicted two women drug peddlers for a term of mere six months.
The Court convicted the accused identified as Mawi Hmar and Vuli Hmar with ‘rigorous imprisonment’ for a term of six months for their involvement in peddling of heroin in Madanriting area on September 19, 2012.
The complaint was submitted by Irene Hujon, President CSWO and investigated by Inspector Simseng A Sangma, in-charge Anti Narcotic Task Force, East Khasi Hills, a statement of the police said.
