SHILLONG: Names of five ‘tainted’ LP school teachers under Shillong Centre as mentioned in the CBI report do not figure in the final list prepared by the High Level Scrutiny Committee which further examined the anomalies in the appointment of school teachers.
The High Level Scrutiny Committee has omitted the names of  — Rilang Pale, Badaiamon Tynsong, Jasmine A Lyngdoh, Newshai Khriem and Radiancy Khongthiem, from the ‘tainted’ candidates’ list.
The Scrutiny Committee listed a total of 55 tainted candidates under Shillong Centre.
The task of the Committee constituted by Government following an order of the High Court of Meghalaya was to segregate the tainted and non-tainted candidates.
Though the Scrutiny Committee finalised the names of 55 candidates as tainted, the  Director of School Education and Literacy has omitted two names from the 55  and show-cause notices were issued only to 53 tainted teachers under Shillong Centre.
Altogether 246 ‘tainted’ teachers were issued show-cause notices. The break-up is as follows 53 (Shillong), 92 (Jowai), 37 (Amlarem), 21 (Tura) and 43 (Dadenggre).
