138 films to be screened at CISFF

As many as 138 films from 19 countries will be screened at the first edition of Chennai International Short Film Festival (CISFF). The three-day extravaganza will take place here from Feb 20 onwards.
The festival will be presented by the Chennai Academy of Motion Picture (CAMP) in association with Madras Management Association (MMA).
“The festival received over 350 entries from 19 countries, out of which we have shortlisted 138 films which will be screened as part of the festival. The festival will feature three competition and five non-competitive sections and total prize money worth Rs. 80,000,” read a statement from CISFF.
The three world competition sections are: for short fiction films, for short documentary films, and for short animations film.
All the films in the competition section should have been produced after February 2012 and not exceed 20 minutes in duration.
A three-member jury team is actor Rohini, film editor Akkineni Srikar Prasad and actor Abhishek. They will judge the films in the competition section.
In the non-competition sections, the focus will be on films from countries such as France, Turkey and Estonia, while there will be also sections on Indian panorama and world cinema.
Short films such as Believe it Or Not, Silver Gandhi, That Fired Soul and Two Faces Of Loneliness will be screened across three days at two venues.
There will be no sale of tickets at the festival and all those interested can get registered at CISFF office here from Feb 10 onwards. (IANS)
