Assembly

Meghalaya Governor has summoned the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly to meet at 10 am on March 7 in the temporary Assembly chamber at Rilbong.

Protest

The Shillong branch of MES Builders Association held a protest outside the office of the Chief Engineer Shillong zone. 71 branches across the country also held protest to impress upon the Government to release the long pending payment of the builders.

Workshop

A workshop on “Strategies of genius” from the world’s most powerful learning systems will be held from February 19-21 at Bethany Society campus, Laitumkhrah.

Free training

The Deputy Commissioner, West Jaintia Hills District has informed that free vocational training for a period of three months will be conducted at the Multipurpose Training Vocational Institute, Bosco Pnar, Jowai. Interested candidates who have passed Class X are eligible to apply for courses on DTP, computer hardware, diploma house wiring and hospitality. Candidates who have passed Class VIII can apply for training in security, plumbing and masonry. Those interested should submit their application at Multipurpose Training Institute Bosco Pnar, Jowai on or before February 28.

Recognition

The Meghalaya College Teachers’ Association congratulated its members, Eva Mary Pala, Assistant Professor, Department of Zoology, Shillong College and Kevin H.M Pala, Department of Botany, Lady Keane College for being awarded the Thomas Edison Award 2014.
