Chief Secy in charge reviews poll preparedness

SHILLONG: The In charge Chief Secretary of Meghalaya PBO Warjri accompanied by the Commissioner and Secretary for District Council Affairs J Lyngdoh , the Additional D.G, Law and Order YC Modi and A Sunn, DIG of Eastern Range visited South West Khasi Hills District on Friday to review the preparedness for the Election to the Autonomous District Council for the two Constituencies comprising of  25-Mawkyrwat Constituency and 26- Langrin Constituency.
The meeting was held at the Multipurpose Hall, D.C. Complex, Mawkyrwat and it was attended by the Sector Officers, Zonal Magistrates and the Police Officers of the District,.
Addressing the gathering, PBO Warjri called upon the officials to perform their duties with sincerity and dedication. He deliberated at length the objective of democracy and stress upon the need to have a free and fair Election.
While underlining the role and functions of Government machineries in conducting the Election, J Lyngdoh stressed the need that the Officials empowered with magisterial power to be well-informed with the Law and avoid of misusing their power while performing their duties.
