House session from March 7

SHILLONG: The UDP has decided to raise the issue of youths joining HNLC in the upcoming Assembly session which is scheduled to commence from March 7.

UDP President Donkupar Roy has blamed the adamant attitude of the Government in handling the agitation of the pressure groups over ILP for the youths joining HNLC.

The UDP leader told newsmen on Tuesday that it is a matter of concern to know that the KSU general secretary Fredrick Kharmawphlang and others joined HNLC.

“Influx is not the only issue. The Government was adamant while dealing with the movement demanding ILP. In such a situation, there is a chance that the youths can be enticed,” Roy said.

According to the UDP leader, the trend of youths joining insurgent groups is unfortunate as for the last 15 years Shillong has been witnessing peace.

CM-ANVC nexus issue

On the alleged nexus of the Chief Minister with ANVC-B, Roy said that the higher authorities, President of India, Prime Minister and the Governor should take note of the matter and initiate action.
