Shillong student now India’s No. 1 junior

U-17 girls’ archery

SHILLONG: Parvati Nair, a Class 8 student from Army Public School, Shillong, has claimed the number one ranking in the country in compound bow archery among under-17 girls at the National Ranking Archery Tournament, organised by the Archery Association of India, held in New Delhi from February 12-16.

Nair also participated in the U-22 category and stood second, according to a press release on Tuesday. In the senior category, she stood 10th overall.

Nair, who is training at the 58 Gorkha Training Centre in Happy Valley, has won several tournaments in a short span of seven months.

The Archery Node at GTC has been providing the youngster with guidance and coaching.
