SHILLONG: The University of Technology and Management (UTM), Bijni campus is in trouble after NEHU has asked the former to surrender the campus property to it.

In a letter addressed to UTM recently regarding the possession of Bijni Campus of NEHU, the NEHU registrar said that UTM should take necessary steps to surrender the property at the earliest as NEHU is not willing to extend the lease agreement.

The action on the part of NEHU was necessitated as the term of memorandum of agreement signed between UTM and NEHU in July 2011 will end in July this year.

NEHU also made it clear that UTM will not be allowed to have further extension of lease agreement regarding the occupation of Bijni campus.
