Extortion threat to woman

SHILLONG: The GNLA self styled commander in chief Sohan D Shira has taken exception to the reports that a GNLA cadre  has tried to extort money from an employee of Tura Municipal Office.
In response to the news report that GNLA demanded money from a woman at the Tura Municipal Office, Shira said that the outfit  was  trying to find out those who were misusing GNLA’s name. “We have not demanded any money from one lady in Tura Municipal board office. We will not spare anybody who misuse our name for their personal interest” Shira said.
According to Shira, they are getting a lot of information about ” some people misusing our organisation’s name and we will not spare them”. Shira further admitted that the militant outfit had executed one Rutherford Marak and others for misusing the name of GNLA and extorting people.
