CEO duped of Rs 3,500

SHILLONG: In a case of credit card fraud, an amount of Rs 3,500 has been debited without authorisation from the Vijaya Bank credit card of Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) P Naik.

As per police, the amount was fraudulently debited in the name of Datech Charge WDPU company. A complaint in this regard has been lodged at the Shillong Sadar PS.

When contacted Naik confirmed the incident and informed that he has asked bank to file an FIR on the matter.

Credit and debit card frauds are not unheard of in the state which has witnessed several such cases in the past. In another such incident, unidentified miscreants fraudulently withdrew Rs. 20,000 from the account of one Dr. Binsera R. Marak from SBI ATM at Babupara, Tura (WGH) on February 21.
