Rilbong, Sales XI win comfortably in SCL

SHILLONG: YAWS crumbled for a meagre total and were beaten by Rilbong by six wickets in a Second Division Cricket League match at the Cricket Ground, Polo, on Monday.

Rilbong won the toss and elected to field first, bundling out YAWS for just 68 runs in 19.3 overs.

Ashish Gurung took 4/14 in 3.3 overs.

In reply, Rilbong made 72/4 in 11 overs.

Surojit Paul scored 24 runs, while Sayeed took 2/15 in three overs.

In the second match of the day, Sales XI won by the even bigger margin of eight wickets.

Winning the toss and putting Red Pine in to bat first, Sales XI restricted their opponents to just 82 for the loss of eight wickets in 20 overs.

Nakul Das claimed three wickets for 13 runs in four overs. Batkupar Nongkhlaw made 21 runs.

It was a reasonably easy chase for the Salesmen, who made 83/2 with eight full overs to spare.

Bappon Dutta top-scored with a quickfire 41 runs from 29 deliveries.

On Tuesday, Nongrim Hills will play Clique United at 8:30am, while MLP go up against Eleven Star at 12 noon.
