SHILLONG: The National Science Day was observed in ICAR on Thursday and to commemorate the day various presentations related to modern day technology in agricultural science and incorporation of modern technology in agriculture were presented by scientists.
The chief guest for the occasion was Dr. S Sudhakhar, Director North East Space Application Centre (NESAC) and speaking on the occasion, he said that science has played a very important role in transforming society.
The guest of honor for the occasion was Dr. B M Jyrwa, Dean Physical Science North Eastern Hill University and while addressing the gathering, Jyrwa appreciated the efforts taken by the institute to organize such events.
