Margao: After a disappointing loss against Mohammedan Sporting in their last match, Sporting Clube de Goa would look to bounce back against a resurgent Dempo in a return match of the I-League here on Saturday.

Sporting Clube de Goa had set their eyes to the top slot of the league table when the I-League resumed last month after a break, but a draw against Pune FC and a loss against Mohammedan Sporting saw them remain at third place, with 28 points from 16 matches.

They are now looking to return to their winning ways on Saturday at Nehru Stadium at Fatorda against an ‘in-form’ Dempo who have beaten Rangdajied United FC and East Bengal, to move to the sixth place, with 22 points from 17 matches.

Tolgay Ozbey and Haroon Amiri have been a revelation for Dempo, combining well to help their side’s wins against Rangdajied and East Bengal. The defence looked solid under Amiri and the attack too looked sharp, with Tolgay in fine form.

Both the teams would look for a win to climb up the ladder.

Struggling Bagan take on relegation-threatened Mohd Sporting

Relegation-threatened Mohammedan Sporting and another I-League laggards Mohun Bagan take on each other for bragging rights in a Round 20 encounter of the I-League at the Salt Lake Stadium in Klkata on Saturday.

The two Kolkata giants have met three times this season in three different competitions but it has ended all square in each occasion including the goalless stalemate in the I-League first leg November last. (PTI)
