Molestation case

On March 11 at about 7 am, one Jetro M. Marak outraged the modesty of one girl at Dalu Sokpara (WGH). Accused has been arrested.

Murder case

On March 9, one Ojen T Sangma murdered his wife Rohilla Ch. Marak by strangulation in their residence at Goeragre village (WGH). Police arrested the accused.

Theft cases

On the night of March 10, unknown miscreants stole one hundred metres of copper cable from M/s Hill Cement factory at Thangskai (EJH).

On March 10 at about 8 pm, unknown miscreants stole three laptops computer belonging to Agnibma Haldar, Marinal Shekar and Roshan Kumar Yadav from NIT Boy’s Hostel, NEHU Campus, Mawlai. Matter is under enquiry.

On the night of March 11, unknown miscreants stole twelve vehicle batteries, two inverter batteries, two DI Engines, one Dynamo, six Alternators, one car audio system and other vehicle parts valued around Rs. 1,38,000 from the garage of Paritosh Pariat at Butcher Road, Shillong. Matter is under enquiry.

On March 11 around 7 pm, one Syed Ali was caught red-handed while stealing a cell phone from one girl at Police Bazar, Shillong.

Bernard Majaw lodged a complaint at Rynjah PS that in between March 8 and March 10, 2014, unknown miscreants stole copper cable valued around Rs. 50,000 from NEIGRIHMS, Mawdiangdiang.

On March 13 around 3.30 pm, unknown miscreant stole one motorcycle (ML-05K-5141) belonging to Kalim Sham from Police Bazar, Shillong.

Assault cases

On March  10 around 9 pm, villagers of Gajingpara (NGH) apprehended and assaulted two persons Naman N Marak (19) and Tengran Marak (27) suspecting them to be dacoits. Later, Tengran Marak was removed to CHC, Resubelpara, while Naman N Marak was taken to Resubelpara Outpost for interrogation. Matter is under investigation.

On March 11 at about 11 pm, unidentified miscreants assaulted Robi Ali near Umshyrpi Bridge, Shillong. As a result, he sustained injuries and was removed to Civil Hospital Shillong. Matter is under enquiry.

On March 13 at about 12.15 am, unidentified miscreants assaulted Phrangbor War (37) at Fire Brigade, Shillong. Victim sustained injuries and was removed to hospital.

Arms recovery case

On March 10, Police accompanied by VDP members of Mawsynram village raided the house of Landing Dkhar at Mawtyllup village and Slanding Syiem at Mawsynram village (WKH) and recovered two country-made pistols from the possession of the house owners.

Threat cases

On March 10 at about 5.30 pm, Empor Shylla threatened Rilang Shylla with dire consequences at Shyrmang village (WJH). Accused has been arrested.

Arit Chakraborty lodged a complaint at Laitumkhrah PS that on February 10, his brother Ardhenu Chakraborty harassed and threatened him with dire consequences in his residence at Nongrimmaw, Shillong. Police arrested the accused.

Accidental death

On March 12 at about 6 pm, one Plastar Syiemiong accidentally fell down from Anderson Arcade at Laitumkhrah, Shillong. As a result, he sustained injuries and was shifted to CH Shillong, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Cheating case

Elsie Mary Wahlang lodged a complaint at Mawlai PS that during the year 2012, Pyntngenlang Khonglah (34) cheated her of Rs. 38,000 with a promise to provide her with a job at BSNL office.

Abduction case

Basanti Chettri lodged a complaint at Umiam PS that her minor son David Kynru (6) was found missing from Lad Umsaw (RB), since March  8, 2014. She suspects that one person Lalu (Adivasi community) had kidnapped her son.

Looting case

Nurul Islam lodged a complaint at Dadenggre PS that on February  28, 2014 around 11.30 am, while he was proceeding from Dadenggre towards Phulbari and on reaching Rongsak village (WGH), unidentified miscreants forcibly took away his motorcycle (ML-08C-6388).
