SHILLONG: As the new recruits of banned militant outfit HNLC are planning to cross over to Bangladesh as evident from the recent arrests, the Border Security Force (BSF) has intensified its vigil along the border to thwart any such attempt.

An official of the BSF, Meghalaya Frontier said that the BSF has the details of all the new recruits along with their pictures who are planning to cross over to Bangladesh and therefore BSF has taken several measures to thwart such attempts.

The official informed that the BSF also shares all its information on border management with its Bangladesh counterpart Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB).

According to BSF official, the personnel who are deployed along the border have been sensitized in this regard.

The strengthening of the BSF vigil assumes significance in view of the fact that three HNLC cadres were arrested recently while they were en-route to border to cross over to Bangladesh and join the outfit .
