BSF nabs cattle smuggler

SHILLONG: An Indian cattle smuggler was apprehended by BSF troops of Baldamgiri in South West Garo Hills while he was trying to smuggle 26 cattle from India to Bangladesh.  The apprehended person was identified as Rashidul Islam (25) and the cattle were being brought from Assam to the border area of Meghalaya for smuggling to Bangladesh.  During last week, BSF troops also apprehended five Bangladeshi illegal immigrants and seized 461 bottles of liquor, 4.5 kg of hemp, forest produces and other contraband items worth over Rs.8 lakh.
