SHILLONG: People should come out and file petitions before the Meghalaya State Electricity Regulatory Commission (MSERC) on the issue of power tariff, narrating their problems, Chief Minister Dr Mukul Sangma told reporters on Thursday.
At a news briefing, a journalist presented a bill to the Chief Minister showing that compared to the nominal rate in the past, his electricity bill during the last month touched Rs 5,000.
The Chief Minister hoped that that the Commission  would be able to ameliorate the sufferings of the people.
“Even if MeECL proposes hike in power tariff, the Commission may not accept the proposal” Sangma said.
