Vasco (GOA): Buoyed by their five successive wins, Salgaocar FC are now looking to close the gap at the top when they take on United SC in an I-League match here on Saturday.
Salgaocar, who are second with 33 points from 19 games after beating Dempo in their last match, are now four points behind leaders Bengaluru FC and a win on Saturday will see them close the gap to one point.
United SC need to buck their poor run of form. They have collected just five points from their last nine outings and have 20 points from 19 matches. They are now in serious danger of falling into the relegation zone.
Meanwhile, in Margao, Dempo will play Mohammedan Sporting.
The Goan team are in sixth place with 25 points from 19 matches, while Mohammedan just about have their heads above water with 17 points from 18 outings. The Kolkatans are 12th at the moment. (PTI)
