BYRNIHAT: MPCC President and Nongpoh MLA DD Lapang on Friday, made a fervent appeal to the electorates to give Vincent Pala a second chance by electing him as their MP so that he could complete all the pending schemes.
The long pending demand for the creation of a Civil Sub Division at Patharkhmah, creating of new C&RD Block at Umroi and Mawhati and widening of Patharkhmah-Umling Road into two lanes among other could materialized only if Pala return as MP, Lapang told a gathering at the public meeting organized by the Jirang Block Congress Committee at Moonlight School Ground, Byrnihat on Friday morning.
Clarifying on the dropping of Pala as Union Minister, the MPCC supremo said that he was inducted as minister after much pursuance by him and Dr. Mukul Sangma Chief Minister but it was with an understanding that it will be on rotation so that Congress MP from other North East states can also be inducted in the Union Ministry.
Taking a dig at the Indian Shining Campaign by BJP government in the year 2004, Umsning MLA Dr. Celestine Lyngdoh said that the people of the country saw that there was no development in the country as the poor remain poorer while the downtrodden remain oppressed which in contrast to the tall claims of the BJP.
