SHILLONG: A top HNLC cadre, stated to be the area commander of the outfit in Jaintia Hills, was arrested by police on the outskirts of Kolkata on Tuesday evening, according to information available from Kolkata.
The Shillong Police confirmed one arrest but refused to give details.
According to information from Kolkata, the cadre identified as Phyranilang Swer alias Pastor was picked by the Special Task Force of Kolkata police from Kalikapur area after getting inputs from Shillong police.
There was one more companion with Swer when he was arrested.
