Attempted rape
One woman lodged a complaint at Jowai PS that on April 3 at about 8:30 am, her brother-in-law Shaibor Lyngkhoi attempted to rape her twelve year old daughter at Ummulong (WJH). Accused has been arrested.
Ransom
Yookani Passah lodged a complaint at Jowai PS that on April 2 at about 9 am, unknown persons left one letter in her residence at Panaliar, Jowai (WJH) demanding Rs. 20 lakhs from her and also threatened her family members with dire consequences.
Theft
lLamang Manik Sing Syiem lodged a complaint at Shillong Sadar PS that on April 2, unknown miscreants stole one cell phone along with two SIM cards from KFC, Police Bazar, Shillong.
lSanjay Kumar Singh lodged a complaint at Shillong Sadar PS that on April 1, unknown miscreants stole one Tablet (Samsung) from Zaras Arcade at Keating road, Shillong.
lOn April 1, unknown miscreants stole one laptop computer, two Hard Discs, ID cards of NEEPCO from a vehicle (ML-05C-7777) belonging to Nantu Kma at Oakland Road, Shillong.
lOn April 1, unknown miscreants stole one TV set from J.M Tower, Police Bazar, Shillong.
Arrest
On April 2 around 1 pm, Police arrested Md. Sajmal Ali (20) while he was extorting money from a truck at Wageasi NH-62 (NGH), however, his two accomplices managed to escape. Police seized one Tata Sumo. Matter is under investigation.
Rape
lOne woman lodged a complaint at Jowai PS that in the evening of April 1, one unidentified truck driver raped her ten-year-old daughter at Salini Colony, Jowai (WJH).
lOn April 1 around 12.30 pm, one Sendolem Makroh raped an eighteen-year-old girl in his residence at Old Tasku village (RB). Police arrested the accused person.
Missing
Chriswell Rongrin, Headman of Mawrok village (WKH) lodged a complaint at Nongstoin PS that on April 1, one Artiful Marthong d/o Ritlin Marthong was found missing from her residence at the village.
Assault
lOn March 30 around 9:30 am, one Marshal D. Shira, Inspector of Excise, assaulted and threatened Wanseng D. Sangma with dire consequences at Bolsalgre, Baghmara (SGH). Victim sustained injuries and was admitted at CH Baghmara.
lOn March 27, unidentified miscreants assaulted Md. Shaukat Ali at Lumdiengjri, Shillong.
Fraudulent withdrawal
Prodip Kr. Roy lodged a complaint at Tura PS that on March 23 & 24, unknown miscreants fraudulently withdrew Rs. 37,730 from his account from Tura Main Bazar, Evening Branch and Gangtok (Sikkim) by using a forged ATM card.
Domestic violence
Seema Devi lodged a complaint at Tura PS that her husband Rajesh Prasad (Police constable) tortured her mentally and physically since their marriage in the year 2003 and since the year 2004, they lived separately. On March 10 they settled the matter and registered their marriage, but since then, her husband started to torture her physically and mentally.
