TURA/AMPATI: The Acting Chief Secretary PBO Warjri accompanied by Director General of Police, PJP Hanaman and IGP, H Nongpluh on Thursday visited West Garo Hills and South West Garo Hills and held a meeting with Deputy Commissioners, and police chiefs of the districts to review the level of preparedness for the coming elections.
While in West Garo Hills, the delegation met the district head Pravin Bakshi and police chief M K Singh, in South West Garo Hills those who attended the meeting included Deputy Commissioner, Ram Singh, SP R Muthu, and ADC (Election), P K Boro.
The Chief Secretary has expressed satisfaction over the meticulous and elaborate plan and arrangement made by the districts.
Warjri asked the West Garo Hills District Administration not to be complacent while appreciating the election preparedness on the part of the administration.
Commenting on South West Garo Hills, Warjri said that Ampati was one of the districts that has come up with a detailed and meticulous plan.
Acknowledging the challenges being faced as a “baby” district, the Chief Secretary, however pointed out the plus points, saying that road infrastructure, communication and law and order situation with regard to insurgency, was much better than other districts. The DGP also found the overall arrangement satisfactory and said if everything was done according to the plan, there should be no security issues and the entire election process in the district would go smoothly, he added.
