SHILLONG: Nongmynsong smashed Helping Hands by nine wickets, while 1st MLP came through a tighter match against Sales XI in the SCA Second Division Cricket League at the Cricket Ground, Polo, on Friday.
Nongmynsong won the toss and chose to field first, restricting Helping Hands to 72/8 in 15 overs. Akram took 3-13 in three crucial overs, while Hirok top-scored with 18 runs.
In reply, Nongmynsong reached 74/1 in just 10 overs, with Sandeep providing 41 of those runs. Ganesh was the lone wicket-taker.
In the second match, Sales XI were skittled for 62 in 17.3 overs after choosing to bat first. Horen Brahma bagged 3-18 in four overs, but his team struggled in the chase, with 1st MLP just about crawling to victory.
The police made 65/9 in 19 overs. Monojit Ghosh claimed 3-9 in four overs in a losing cause.
