SHILLONG: The Catholic churches in the State on Sunday offered prayers for free and fair elections in Meghalaya.
In Khasi-Jaintia Hills and Garo Hills, faithful prayed for fair election during the church services.
The church leaders, however, refrained from making any appeal for voting for any candidate.
“We prayed for a fair election during the services  in the churches in several places today,” Archbishop Dominic Jala said.
