KHADC appointment may lead to poll code violation

SHILLONG: The appointment of PS Nongbri as Standing Counsel of KHADC is likely to invoke the provisions of model code of conduct, sources said on Sunday.
The Chapter 7 VI (d) of the model code of conduct says that the party in power should not   “make any ad-hoc appointments in government, public undertakings which may influence the voters”.
It was on April 2 that Nongbri was appointed as the Standing Counsel of KHADC following the resignation of V G K Kynta from the post. .
