2 girls held for demanding money

SHILLONG:West Jaintia Hills police have arrested two girls for allegedly demanding money from a person.

Police said that one Khrehbha Rymbai received an SMS demanding Rs. 4 lakh with an instruction to pay the money on the same day. The sender threatened him with dire consequences if he failed to make the payment.

Acting on an FIR filed by Rymbai, police laid a trap and arrested two girls near Kiang Nangbah College, Jowai in this connection.

The arrested two girls are Pdiangmon Dkhar (20) and Rebecca Nongpluh (18). Police also seized the cell phone with the SIM card which was used for sending the SMS.
