TURA: The family members and colleagues of Rakesh Pandey, who was kidnapped by unidentified militants from Chasingre on April 3, have appealed for the unconditional release of the kidnapped victim at the earliest.

Rakesh Pandey, the Site Manager of ISBT had been currently involved in the construction of the Inter State Bus Terminus at Chasingre – a developmental work in road communication which would immensely benefit the region.

In a statement issued here on Monday the family members and colleagues of the victim pointed out that the incident had led to sleepless nights for his wife and children and other family members.

It added that his colleagues and other office staff now also felt insecure and were worried about his safety and security. Terming the kidnapping as unfortunate it pointed out that developmental works meant to enrich the society and the region would now be stalled.

“The family members and office staff, therefore, earnestly appeal to any group or organization involved to kindly release him unconditionally at the earliest for the sake of his wife and children and in the interest of peace and development of Garo Hills,” the appeal said.
