‘Drunken’ poll official alleges DC slapped him

SHLLONG: A day after South Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner Chinmoy P Gothmare removed the presiding officer Wilson Cooper Laloo of District Commerce and Industries Department, after he was found drunk during duty, the latter alleged that the deputy commissioner had slapped him. ) “I have not done anything wrong. But even if I had done any mistake, he should not have slapped me, but should have followed the normal course of law,” Laloo said.

According to the poll official, he had to face humiliation as Gothmare slapped him in the presence of several presiding and polling officers at the premises of the office of the Deputy Commissioner.

It was on Monday at around 10.30 am that Laloo,who was appointed as presiding officer of Bilkona LP school under Baghmara constituency, was found intoxicated.
