Concern over river pollution

SHILLONG: The Federation of Khasi Jaintia and Garo People (FKJGP), East Garo Hills has expressed its concern over the draining out of waste materials of the company BSC & C&C camp at Samanda. In a memorandum submitted to the EGH DC, FKJGP Williamnagar General Secretary, Mathew R Marak asked the District Administration to take necessary action in this regard. The FKJGP also asked the Nokma of Samanda to inspect periodically the site and to be aware of any waste materials being drained directly into the Simsang River.
