Admin to probe denial of PDS items

SHILLONG: The East Khasi Hills district administration will inquire into the denial of PDS items to several women by the Sordar of Kynroh Nonglyer village, Kwit Kyrsian, and the secretary Faithstar Nongtri recently.

The traditional heads had also prevented the affected women of the village from attending a Dorbar meeting which was convened to discuss this matter. “We will inquire into the matter as it pertains to right to food,” the East Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner Sanjay Goyal said.
