Dorbar of Kynroh Nonglyer say accusations false
SHILLONG: The village Dorbar of Kynroh Nonglyer, Sohiong has decided to file a counter FIR against CSWO president Agnes Kharshiing and five women of the village for defaming the village Dorbar by making a false accusation that the Dorbar decided to discontinue the distribution of the PDS items to the women folk of the village.
“We have decided to file a counter FIR against Kharshiing and the five women who have made a false accusation against the village Dorbar. We will not hesitate to file a case against the CSWO president if there is a necessity,” Kynroh Nonglyer village Dorbar Faithstar Nongtri told newsmen here on Monday.
He said that there was no truth that the village took any decision to discontinue the distribution of PDS items to the women folk.
“We would like to clarify that the village Dorbar does not have any role in the distribution of the PDS items. It is the Fair Price Shop dealer who distributes the PDS items,” Nongtri said.
He said that the CSWO president should substantiate with valid proof and evidence to show that the village Dorbar denied any of the family in getting the PDS items.
“We would also like to urge the authorities to institute a probe to find out the truth of this whole controversy,” the secretary said. He also said that the CSWO president never came to the village to know the ground reality.
“If she (Kharshiing) was really concerned about the problem then she should have visited the village. It is totally wrong to demean the village Dorbar only by hearing the accusations made by some of the women. These women might have some hidden agenda in targeting the village Dorbar,” the village Dorbar secretary said.
While clarifying on the allegation about chasing the women folk who came to attend the meeting of the village Dorbar, he said that the village has a customary practice from time immemorial not to allow women to attend any meeting of the Dorbar.
According to the secretary, the agenda of the meeting was to place the annual report of the village Dorbar. Earlier, the CSWO had submitted petition to the KHADC CEM Ardent Miller Basaiawmoit about illegal action on the part of the Dorbar.
