24-hour bandh in East Jaintia Hills from today

JOWAI: The 24-hour bandh in the entire East Jaintia Hills District in protest against the adamant attitude of the Public Works Department to repair the deplorable condition of National Highway 44 will be effective from 5 am on April 16 till 5 am of the next day.

The bandh, called by five NGOs comprising SRS-EJH, AJYWO-CB, KSU-JHDU, HNYF-EJZ, FKJGP-KC, has gained the support of Jaintia Youth Federation, EJH, and the Jaintia Students’ Union Narpuh Circle.
