SHILLONG: A pedestrian was knocked down by a truck on Sunday at Pahamsyiem GS Road (Ri Bhoi district). Police said that the accident happened on April 13 around 9 am when one truck (HP-68A-5449) driven by Md. Ummar Uddin knocked down one pedestrian Md. Nur Islam (38). The victim died on the spot and necessary formalities have been observed and cadaver has been handed over to the relatives. The driver has been arrested.
