Autism
SAN-KER is participating in a worldwide effort to promote better awareness and acceptance of autistic individuals by observing the Autism Awareness Month through a Symposium on ‘Autism’ on April 30, 2014 at 1 pm at its premises. Speakers will give an overview on Autism Spectrum Disorders, living and caring for these individuals, as well as the community response to ASD.
Resignation
The President of the A’chik Mothers’ Association, Dr. Jova C Marak has resigned from her position as president with effect from April 29, 2014. Marak said she took the decision on account of her ailing health and frequent medical checkups which put a restriction on her contribution for the organization.

The North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health & Medical Sciences expressed deepest condolence at the demise of Prem Kumar, husband of Pranati Bora, employee of NEIGRIHMS, who breathed his last on April 28, 2014.

SP, East Khasi Hills District, has informed that an unknown male person aged between 25-30 years was brought from Forest Colony to Civil Hospital on April 26 and he expired the same day. Relatives have been requested to contact Pasteur Beat House regarding the matter.
Art workshop
BK Bajoria School in collaboration with Pidilite will organize a creative art workshop from May 7-9 as part of the ongoing 40th anniversary celebrations of the School.
SSSS unit
The Synjuk Ki Seng Samla Shnong, central body has constituted an ad hoc unit in South West Khasi Hills in order to strengthen the organization in the District.
Clarification
The State Social Welfare department has clarified that the State Level Scrutiny Committee for verification of Scheduled Tribes was constituted following Supreme Court guideline for all states in Kumari Madhuri Patil case to constitute the same to verify facts and evidences of the ST status vis-a vis the objections raised by a candidate or opponent.
