SHILLONG: A BSF official was found dead under mysterious circumstances at his camp at Shella border on Wednesday morning.
The company commander identified as Hangsing Neihsil (35) was found dead with several dark marks on his face and other parts of the body leading the family members to believe that there was some foul play involved in the incident. The body has been brought to Shillong civil hospital. Police and BSF officers posted at Shella said that the marks on the body of the BSF official have been there for a long time. However, this was contradicted by the wife of the deceased, Melody Hangsing, who said no such marks existed when the BSF official left for Shella from the Umpling quarter of the border guards on Sunday.
“On Sunday, I did not notice any marks on his face, and the claim of the police that he had them for a very long time is not true,” Melody said.
The relatives said that they were informed that after the postmortem the samples collected were sent to forensic science laboratory for further examination.
