St Anthony’s extend cricket winning streak

SHILLONG: St Anthony’s won their third match in a row in the Inter School Cricket Tournament, organised by the Shillong Cricket Association, by defeating Ruprekha Parishad by 47 runs at the Cricket Ground, Polo, on Wednesday.
Ruprekha won the toss and put the opposition in to bat first in the junior boys league match.
The Anthonians then made 164/8 in 25 overs.
Saqib Hasan scored 34 off 29 balls, while Victor Deb bagged 2-26 in four overs.
In reply, Ruprekha were all out for 117 in 23.2 overs.
Abhishek Joshi almost scored at a strike rate of 200 in his cameo of 25 runs from 13 deliveries. Medhi Mahi took 3-12 in five overs for the winners.
In the second match of the day, Shillong Secondary School reversed a run of two losses to defeat Gandhi Bunyadi School by 62 runs.
Choosing to bat first after winning the toss, Shillong Secondary made 135/7 in the allotted 25 overs, with Reshab Hamal top-scoring with 32 runs. Akash Sharma claimed 2-21 in five overs.
Gandhi Bunyadi were then dismissed for 73 in 15.3 overs.
Sujit Rai scored 14, while Migrak G Momin ended with the best figures of the day, finishing on 4-20 in five overs.
