Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt Gen (Retd) Nirbhay Sharma called for projecting Tawang district bordering China as a ‘model’ place for tourists and pilgrimage at international platform.
“The local population has to be energized and encouraged to partake in the development process. The spirit of ‘Athiti Deva Bhavo’ has to be further strengthened,” he said while addressing a meeting in the border district on Wednesday, according to a Raj Bhawan communiqué here. On developmental issues, the governor said road connectivity was vital for the district as well as for tourism and hydropower and stressed on effort at all levels in removing impediments such as forest clearance and land acquisitions in the implementation of road projects.
Emphasizing on growth of resources especially in health and education sectors, he called for availing assistance from the armed forces. (PTI)
