2 electrocuted in State

SHILLONG: Two persons have died of electrocution while four others sustained injuries in separate incidents in the State.
On May 5 at around 10.30 pm, an unidentified male was electrocuted on the premises of Puriang Petrol Pump in East Khasi Hills. The body was brought to Shillong Civil Hospital for post mortem.
In another incident, one person died while another was injured when they came in contact with a live wire at Dainadubi   in North Garo Hills on May 4.
Police said that one Billond Shira lodged an FIR at Dainadubi Outpost that on May 4 at around 4.10 pm, while Chandan Arengh and Simsang R Marak were repairing the LT Line in PWD (R) office at Dainadubi in North Garo Hills, they came in contact with live wire, as a result of which Arengh died on the spot. The injured was rushed to Goalpara Civil Hospital, Assam.
In yet another case, a five-month-old infant, his mother, aunty and another lady sustained injuries when they were struck by lightning at Mukhla under Thadlaskein Block in West Jaintia Hills on Tuesday afternoon. The injured persons are currently under medical supervision.
