TURA: The actual identity and educational qualification of the Camp Incharge of the Roko Cancer Office in Tura, one Anand Singh has been questioned with Civil Society leader and Peace Committee member, Khanin D Momin submitting a complaint against the official to the Deputy Commissioner and Superintendent of Police of West Garo Hills.
In a statement issued here on Wednesday the civil society leader alleged that the official has never produced any documents to prove his actual identification and educational qualification and make contradictory statements about his marital status sometimes saying that he was married and at other times that he was not. Momin also claimed that confusing information was also given out by the official regarding his place of origin wherein he had sometimes stated that he was from UP or Delhi and at other times that he hailed from Punjab.
According to the allegations made by Momin the official does not pay proper respect to the District Manager who is his authority and harasses the staff especially the women employees who are mentally being pressurized by him. He further claimed that although he is a Camp Incharge the official had never attended any of the medical camps that were organized. Momin also alleged that the official was now spreading false rumours that the people of the North East were trying to kidnap him and expressed concern that it might spark communal tension in the region.
Meanwhile, Momin informed that an FIR against the official would be filed in the concerned police station while also urging other NGOs of the region like Mothers’ Union, FKJGP, GSU, CSWO, FAF, AYCO and others to take up the matter to get to the bottom of things.
