Devil worship
SHILLONG: ANVC-B has asked the church bodies to unitedly take a stand against the growing menace and influences of the spiritually misguided youths who are commonly being branded as “devil worshippers”.
In a statement issued here on Thursday, ANVC-B said that these youths, who out of desperation turn to drugs and drinking seem to have got themselves hooked to the rituals of black magic.
“Black magic involves blood, corpses, acts against faith and even spirits and this is often done if someone has bad intention to harm someone or to get even which in our case could possibly be love life or teen problems,” statement said.
DC clarifies prohibition of Devil worship
West Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner has clarified that devil worship in West Garo Hills has been prohibited on various grounds as it may lead to social unrest and it involved desecration and vandalism of sacred symbols including trespass and public nudity.
He said that if the perpetrators were caught with drugs they can be booked under NDPS Act and if they defy prohibitory order passed by District Magistrate they shall be booked under Section 188 of IPC.
“It is feared that in the long run it may create law and order problems with people attempting to take the law into their own hands to ‘punish’ the Satan worshipers,” he said.
