SHILLONG: As many as 600 city lawyers will wear white ribbon on Friday as a mark of protest for not inviting them for the inauguration of a new court room on Thursday.

In a joint letter addressed to the Chief Justice of High Court of Meghalaya PC Pant, the advocates, who are members of Bar Association, said that they were unhappy for not involving the Bar during the inauguration of the new court room on Thursday.

“As a mark of protest we will wear white ribbon on the day of the first sitting of the Court in the new hall on Friday at 10 am”, the lawyers said.
