World Environment Day programmes

SHILLONG: Along with the rest of the world, the Meghalaya Basin Development Authority (MBDA) in association with the State Forest Department will be taking a leading role in the observation of World Environment Day on June 5.

In this regard, various important activities have been planned along the theme decided by the United Nations Organization – “Raise your voice not the sea level”.

The MBDA said that it will be a State- level event with various programmes being planned at the district levels, with a plan to create awareness to change the people’s attitude towards the environment.

MBDA has planned various activities from June 2 till June 5 involving all sections of the society from school children to college and university students, NGOs, government officials and the general public.
