AMPATI: As part of the Mission Green movement to promote clean and green environment, the South West Garo Hills district administration commenced a large scale plantation drive in several villages recently.

Led by SWGH Deputy Commissioner Ram Singh, offcials went to different villages and planted saplings along with the villagers, who are the ‘partners’ in the Mission. The villagers were also made to write down the pledge to maintain the sustainability of the saplings. The plantation drives are being carried out with the technical support of the District Basin Development Unit team of the IBDLP.
